Mr Tan Chye Hee was appointed as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in June 2026.

Mr Tan joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 1992 and was appointed to the Administrative Service in 2001. Mr Tan has held various appointments in SPF, Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and MHA, before his appointment as Deputy Commissioner (Investigations and Intelligence) at SPF in 2015, and Director (Internal Security Department) at MHA in 2020.

In 2025, he was appointed as Permanent Secretary (Home Affairs Development) at MHA, and concurrently Permanent Secretary (Information and Development) at Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI). He was also appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Home Team Science and Technology Agency.

Mr Tan was awarded The Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2025.
