Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Hri Kumar Nair (Chairperson of the Panel)

Justice Hri Kumar Nair was appointed Justice of the Court of Appeal on 1 October 2025.

He graduated from the National University of Singapore with Second Class Honours (Upper) in Law in 1991 and was called to the bar in 1992. Thereafter, he practised in Drew & Napier LLC and became a director of the firm in 2000. In 2008, he was appointed Senior Counsel.

Justice Nair was appointed Deputy Attorney General in March 2017, where he broke ground in key criminal cases which clarified the prosecution’s duty of disclosure, and the prosecution’s right to assert litigation privilege. He was appointed a Judge of the High Court in January 2023.
